A few weeks ago, a friend reached out to me with a fun idea for a new gift set.
My friend is a great cook and baker. So it didn't surprise me that she was creating an addition to her kitchen. I am excited that I can incorporate her efforts into a present!
Without knocking down walls or doing any other drastic renovations, she made her kitchen more functional by creating an herb garden on her windowsill. The planters looked lovely from the start, and now that the herbs are starting to bloom, it looks even better.
We used to have herbs and cherry tomatoes growing in my childhood backyard. The smell of fresh chives is something that takes me back to standing in that garden and plucking a piece of the freshly watered plant. I can't wait to have fresh herbs growing in my kitchen to get that feeling any time.
Right now, I have some more homework to do before I launch this product. It's been a few years since I've planted anything, so I want to make sure I'm putting forth a good product. The most recent interaction I've had with "fresh produce" involved my son's toy fruit collection...
I have started to do a bit of research. Last week, I called a local greenhouse, Malanga Farms, for some advice. Chris answered the phone and spent about five minutes professionally and kindly answering my questions about planters, soil and herbs, despite that fact that they were closed for the season.
I anticipate launching this new product by April, so stay tuned!!
What would you name a windowsill herb garden gift set?
